Long time players of World of Warcraft will recognize Grim Batol as the dragonkin
infested area in the eastern part of the Wetlands. Come Cataclysm it will feature a 5
player dungeon occupied by the Twilight’s Hammer cult. The cult, which dates back to
Silithus and the release of Ahn’Qiraj, appears to serve the Old Gods.
Grim Batol is one of those areas that Blizzard has been telling us since Vanilla WoW
that they were going to get around to implementing eventually. Eventually turned out
to be 5 years, but here it is!

Could this mean that there will be another Old God encounter at some point in
Cataclysm? Speculation is widely in favor of this, and personally I’d be overjoyed as
the C’thun and Yogg Saron encounters were some of the most innovative and engaging in
the history of the game.
